The United States will supply Ukraine with Abrams tanks from the Pentagon’s existing stockpiles, rather than produce new ones, as previously thought.

This was announced by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. He was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
“We’re taking tanks from stockpiles, refurbishing them to make them suitable for export. So it’s coming from availability, not as part of a new purchase,” he said at a congressional hearing.
The US Department of Defense earlier confirmed that the United States had decided to send an older version of the Abrams tanks to Ukraine in order to speed up their delivery to the Ukrainian army.
