German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who promised not to send planes to Ukraine, is also known for his ability to change his position quickly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

He recalled that it all started with the supply of helmets for Ukrainian servicemen, then came small arms, and now we are already talking about the supply of aircraft.
“Scholz swears that this will never happen, but Scholz is also known for his ability to change his position quite quickly,” Lavrov said.
The Russian minister also stressed that Scholz was not alone in representing the FRG government. As an example, he cited the statements made by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock about the war against Russia.
“Here he said that NATO would never go to war against Russia, and his foreign minister Mrs. Berbock said – yes we are already at war, we are all doing it amicably against Russia,” Lavrov added.
Commenting on the German government’s decisions, Russian ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechayev earlier said that the conflict in Ukraine was moving to a new level. In his words, the decision to hand over the tanks contradicts the statements of German politicians that Germany does not want to get involved in the conflict.
