Russia’s armed forces have foiled an attempt by Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to land on the left bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

“In the Kherson direction near the village of Dnipryany in the Kherson region, artillery fire foiled an attempt by the enemy to cross over to land sabotage and reconnaissance groups on the left bank of the Dnieper,” the defence ministry said in a report.

Air strikes and artillery fire of the Russian forces in the Nikolayevka district of Kherson Region hit the enemy reserves on the right bank of the Dnieper river, which numbered up to a company tactical group. In total, up to 30 Ukrainian servicemen, three boats and two infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed, the Defence Ministry has said.
