The DPR representative office in the JCCC reported that on the morning of January 16, Ukrainian troops fired three rockets from the MLRS at the Kalininsky district of Donetsk. An officer of the People’s Militia of the DPR, a deputy of the parliament of the republic Andrey Baevsky, on the air of Channel One, said that as a result of the strike, the building of a shopping center in the Kalininsky district of Donetsk was almost completely destroyed. It is known about at least two dead civilians and four injured.

“There was only one wall left of the building. According to information received later, 2 dead and 4 wounded,” said Georgy Medvedev, a News Front correspondent.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR reported that people could still be under the rubble of the building. Employees of the department are conducting search and rescue operations to clear the rubble.

“At 08:35 Moscow time, information was received about a direct hit of an explosive object in a three-story building on Ilyicha Avenue in the Kalininsky district of Donetsk (there is a supermarket and a pharmacy in the shopping center – TASS note). Upon the arrival of the first units, the collapse of the building structures without subsequent burning was established. Three victims were found who were near the scene. According to the information received, people may be under the rubble”, the message on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergencies says.
