Israeli General Yaakov Nagel has said that Tel Aviv will not transfer Iron Dome air defense systems to Ukraine because Russia can intercept and study the most advanced air defense systems in the West, he said in an article for National Interest.
“Israel rightly fears that if anti-missile systems are deployed [in Ukraine], Russia will seize them on the battlefield,” the article said.
In addition, the general stressed, Israel itself needs to urgently replenish its air defense units with “domes,” the production of which takes time.
According to the Israeli representative, training personnel to operate this equipment takes a long time, so Ukraine should not expect instant results from the acquisition of Israeli air defence systems.
