British Prime Minister Sunak has demanded that Russia be stripped of its ability to resupply weapons
The country should receive more and more military aid from Western countries, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told a summit of Nordic leaders. His words were quoted by Washington Examiner.
The politician also called for a focus on denying Russia the ability to regroup and further the ability to resupply weapons.
“This means the need to go after Russia’s arms supply chains and cut off international support,” he stressed.
Earlier, Sunak called talks on a ceasefire in Ukraine pointless as long as “the Russian military is on the territory of the republic”.
Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on 24 February. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “to protect people who have been subjected to abuse, genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years”. For this purpose, he said, it was planned to “demilitarize and denazify Ukraine” and to bring to trial all those responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbas. At the same time, Putin said that Russia is open to negotiations on Ukraine, and if Kiev is ripe, then the mediation efforts of those who offer them will be needed. Meanwhile, Western countries are increasingly talking about the need for Kiev to continue fighting, as well as supplying it with weapons and training the Ukrainian military on its territory.
