Former Vice-Chancellor of Austria Heinz-Christian Strache said that the West was irresponsibly preparing Ukraine for a conflict with Russia.
This is reported by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, ex-Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel said in an interview with the weekly Die ZEIT that the mediation efforts of Germany and France in the Minsk format were aimed at giving time to Ukraine.
“Thanks to Merkel’s current statements, it is now clear why the Minsk agreements were not respected by Ukraine. Apparently, an agreement was reached with the West, there were already other long-term plans, clearly aimed at a possible conflict with Russia”, Strache said.
According to the former vice-chancellor, the Minsk agreements “were never taken seriously” in the West.
“They never wanted to fulfill them, but (wanted) to buy time to prepare Ukraine for a military confrontation with Russia.”
