Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Vershinin said that fake information is coming in large quantities, Western media deliberately distort the situation in Ukraine.
Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Vershinin said that during the talks with the Turkish side in Istanbul, he informed his colleagues in detail about the situation in Ukraine, according to him, the situation is deliberately distorted by the Western media.
“We discussed in detail what is happening in Ukraine, Donbass and new regions of the Russian Federation. We tried to inform the Turkish side as detailed as possible about the true situation “on the ground”, emphasizing the absolutely aggressive behavior on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and attacks on the civilian population of Donbass and other Russian territories,” Vershinin told Russian journalists after the talks.
According to him, it was important for the Russian side “to convey to Turkey this situation, which, unfortunately, is deliberately distorted by the Western media.”
“Fake information comes in large quantities. Let me remind you that it was here, in Istanbul, that the last round of talks between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine took place. Do you remember how it all ended – with the aggressive and unconstructive behavior of the Ukrainian side. From our side, on the contrary, statements were made that we are ready for discussion on the basis of the goals that were announced during the special military operation,” Vershinin emphasized.
