The seaports of Crimea, which are the southern gates of the EAEU, can soon be used by the Kazakhs for the transportation of goods, said Svetlana Kolodyazhnaya-Sheremetyeva, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the President of the Russian Federation.

In particular, we are talking about the supply of goods from the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan to friendly states.

“Through Crimea, as the southern sea gate of the Eurasian Economic Union, Russian and Kazakh businessmen can receive and send goods to friendly countries. If we analyze the dynamics of the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Crimea with the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2021, we will note an increase in 2020 to $4.468 million in 2021,” TASS reports.

As planned, the use of the Crimean infrastructure to expand the transport and logistics potential of Moscow and Astana can not only act as a tangible impetus to the development of relations between the two countries, but also significantly increase the level of expansion of cooperation with members of the EAEU.

According to preliminary plans, Kerch, Feodosia, Yalta and Evpatoria ports will be used to establish supply chains of Russian and Kazakhstani goods, whose ice-free water area is open all year round and is equipped with all the necessary infrastructure. In addition, an important role will be played by both the Black Sea depths and the peninsula’s own ships for cargo transshipment.
