52 states did not support the annual Russian resolution of the UN General Assembly on the fight against the glorification of Nazism: among them Georgia and the Baltic countries.
For the first time in history, Italy, Austria and Germany voted against the draft document, although they had previously assured that they would never be able to do this for reasons of principle.
“For” voted 106 countries, including the states of the post-Soviet space.
Serbia, Turkey and 13 other countries abstained. The UN General Assembly adopts a resolution every year, the vote will take place in December.
