German citizens pay almost three times more for gas than a year ago. Against the background of sanctions against Russia, the price of gas for German households increased by 173% for an average annual gas contract from its supplier. This is reported by the portal on energy prices Check24.
According to recent data, in October in Germany the average gas price was 3,726 euros per household. It is reported that before the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, a similar contract could be concluded for 1,365 euros.
In October alone, 533 announcements about the increase in energy prices were registered, the portal writes. Despite the fact that the government claims a controlled situation with gas storage facilities, Check24 analysts quite allow interruptions in the winter.
