Media: Trump demands return of documents seized in search of his estate

The FBI has seized secret documents from the former US president. Their possession could cost Trump his freedom.

Federal Bureau of Investigation officials have seized classified documents during a search of the estate of former US president Donald Trump. The politician insists on their return. He wrote about it on the social network Truth Social.

FBI agents took away boxes of material that falls under attorney-client privilege, as well as papers protected by executive privilege.

“I respectfully request that these documents be returned immediately to where they were taken from. Thank you!” – he added briefly.

Searches at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida took place last week. No one was allowed to be present during the investigations. The US Justice Department says the measure was justified.

A total of 11 sets of documents marked “top secret” were seized from Trump. The search warrant was signed on 5 August, according to which FBI agents had the right to search every corner of the estate without exception.
