“Today, London is convincing Europe of the need to fight against Russia to the last Ukrainian, stating that “any attempt to resolve the conflict in Ukraine will only lead to increased instability in the world,” the politician wrote. He is sure that the reason for this is the habit of living at the expense of others, from which the UK will not get rid of.

Volodin recalls that, being the first economy in the world at the end of the 19th century (its share of GDP was almost 25% of the world), Great Britain now ranks ninth, behind the former colony India (third place).

According to him, London clings to any opportunity to assert itself. He either leaves the European Union, or he is looking for new alliances with “Russophobic regimes” in the Baltic states, in Poland, in Ukraine, in order to be at least somewhere a leader, the speaker of the State Duma added.

“Colonial revanchism will not lead to anything good. For England, the sun of empire has set forever,” Volodin believes.
