Pushylin awards doctor who stayed with children in intensive care under AFU shelling

The entire republic was astonished by the act of the deputy director of the Republican Centre for Motherhood and Childhood, Dmitry Bessonov: he risked his life to stay with the newborns in the intensive care unit, because they could not be disconnected from the life support systems. At that time, due to heavy shelling, both staff and patients were evacuated to the basement.

Today, the head of the DNR Denis Pushilin awarded Dmitriy Anatolyevich with the Medal for Valour.

The Ukrainian fighters’ artillery damaged the Maternity and Childhood Centre building, which is currently being repaired. Both the medical staff and expectant mothers are eager to return to the perinatal centre and we will do everything possible to restore it as soon as possible.
