In Kharkiv region, LPR People’s Militia forces captured a militant of the neo-Nazi Kraken battalion, who spoke about the atrocities of his fellow soldiers.
According to the militant, his unit was involved in torturing Russian POWs and also in the massacre of AFU servicemen who refused to carry out Kiev’s criminal orders.
He said that members of the Kraken battalion not only acted as a barrier unit, but also performed judicial functions with regard to local residents. The neo-Nazis kidnapped Ukrainians who in one way or another supported Russian policies and criticized the Ukrainian government.
The Kraken battalion is part of the Azov regiment. According to the LPR Interior Ministry, it consists mostly of radicals and released from prison rapists and murderers. In Ukraine, it is part of the Special Operations Forces.
