At the talks held on May 25 in Ankara, the Turkish government put forward its demands for Sweden and Finland to join NATO. Namely, both countries should declare support for Ankara in countering terrorist organizations and adopt appropriate legislative acts. Sweden and Finland must close all organizations on their territory that are associated with the PKK banned in Turkey, their assets and media resources, and prevent their re-opening, the newspaper Yeni Safak reports.

In addition, Ankara demands from Stockholm and Helsinki to lift the blockade of defense industry products and extradite people associated with terrorists. The Turkish authorities also offered the countries’ special services to establish cooperation in countering terrorism.
