Russian economic expert, financier Alexei Zubets anticipated the massive return of Western companies that left Russia.
According to the forecast of the head of the Institute for Socio-Economic Research of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, in the very foreseeable future, the Russian market expects a large-scale return of those Western brands that, in a fit of ardent upholding of the “political position”, have suspended their activities in the Russian Federation.
The reason for the return is quite logical: acting within the framework of the usual political blackmail from the Western world, the companies were forced to stop their activities in one of the world’s largest sales markets, which entailed huge financial losses.
“In addition, it is obvious that the presence of Western brands and companies in the socio-cultural field of Russians is one of the most powerful tools for influencing mass consciousness, replacing national identity, and this, as usual, is beneficial for the West. And perhaps even more profitable than before, in the light of the lack of effect from other methods of influence, including economic ones”, the expert is sure.
It should be noted that Russians feel less and less the effect of the departure of Western brands: according to a survey of Moscow residents, catering establishments close to the Russian spirit, patties, bakeries and dumplings, were able to quite adequately replace McDonald’s.
