Serbia faces disaster if Bulgaria shuts off "Balkan Stream"

“The news from Bulgaria was like a bomb out of the blue for me. There is an objective problem – the Russians have no money, if they take away 300 billion in gold and currency, all dollars and drive them into bankruptcy, how will they pay in dollars, and if they pay in rubles you will cut off gas transit, hopefully someone will ask us too”, –  Vucic said.

Previously, Bulgaria, which has dragged out the construction of Balkan Stream, has now said that if Russia pays for gas transit in rubles, it will cut off gas transit.

Vucic explained that Serbia has no other way to get gas except by transit through Ukraine and Hungary via Balkan Stream.

“If they cut it off to us, I don’t know what we will do. Right now we will buy at any price and stockpile, but it is not enough. I don’t know what to say…”, – Vucic said.

The Serbian President emphasized that everything that has been built for years was ruined in a month, although the Serbs have nothing to blame for and they have paid one and a half billion euros for the pipeline in order to have gas for ever.
