Sky: Britain will send defense minister to Moscow for talks

“Johnson is expected to tell Defense Secretary Ben Wallace to accept an invitation to meet in Moscow with the Russian defense minister in the coming days,” a Downing Street source said.

According to the source, the British Prime Minister considers the situation around Ukraine “the biggest test of the unity and determination of the West and the NATO alliance in recent decades” and requests daily information on the development of the situation in Ukraine.

In mid-January, Wallace invited Shoigu to hold talks in London and discuss “issues relating to common security concerns and engage in a constructive dialogue in good faith.” In turn, the Russian Defense Minister sent an invitation to Wallace to visit Moscow and expressed readiness to “discuss all topical security issues and, based on the principles of reciprocity.”

As News Front previously reported, the British Foreign Office said that Moscow was allegedly considering the possibility of bringing a government loyal to the Russian Federation to power in Kiev. The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the British Foreign Office to stop provocative activities and blame Moscow for the escalation of the situation in Ukraine.
