“In my mind, I can understand the analysis of the Russian threat, even if I don’t share it,” said Rolf Mützenich, leader of the SPD parliamentary faction.

Mützenich’s party colleague Kevin Kühnert believes that potential international conflicts, namely a possible Russian attack on Ukraine, should not be invented. In his view, this is to “bury projects that have always been a ‘thorn in the side’ for the West,” the SPD general secretary said, referring to the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
