Biden is seeking to exclude sanctions against Nord Stream 2, according to media reports
The US presidential administration is trying through Democrats in Congress to exclude sanctions against Nord Stream 2 from the country’s defence budget.
According to the newspaper, last week, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and other senior White House officials called some congressmen urging them to cancel amendments to next year’s defence budget with sanctions against companies involved in the project.
This is how the administration is trying to prevent the imposition of financial restrictions on firms from Germany.
It may be recalled that six Republican senators have proposed amendments to America’s 2022 defence budget containing sanctions against Nord Stream 2.
