He spent about 30 million hryvnia on a drug against the so-called foot and mouth disease. This is reported by the publication “Ukrainian Truth”, referring to the Kiev city prosecutor’s office.

The spokesman of the department Nadezhda Maksimets said that officials of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection had conspired with representatives of a private society (biofactory), which was involved in the supply of medicines.

“An agreement on the purchase of an uncertified vaccine was signed in October 2019, despite the fact that in April of the same year Ukraine confirmed its status as a country free of foot and mouth disease without vaccination both at the national level and in matters of international trade,” she said she.

As a result, the implementation of the criminal scheme caused damage of 30 million hryvnia. In addition, the vaccines were never used, which means that additional funds will have to be found to dispose of the drug.
