Russia is concerned about a series of provocations by the United States and its allies in the Black Sea - Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation

“This is a never-ending series of provocations carried out by the United States, its NATO allies and some of these countries’ clients in the region. This is a game with fire, this is another attempt to test our strength”, Ryabkov said following a meeting with the intra-factional group of the deputy head of the United Russia faction, Adalbi Shkhagoshev.

According to the deputy minister, Russia’s defense is reliable and Moscow is “ready to fight back.” In addition, Ryabkov noted that the Russian Federation is conducting “training activities” on its own territory, but the presence of American ships in the Black Sea raises a number of questions.

“What are American ships doing in the Black Sea thousands of miles from their bases? No explanation that all this is for the sake of freedom of navigation does not work”, the diplomat emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that the US Navy ships arrived to participate in multinational exercises in the Black Sea region. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the guided missile destroyer Porter, the tanker John Lenthall and the US Navy’s headquarters ship Mount Whitney will take part in the maneuvers.
