Russian army not ready to shoot Ukrainians in hypothetical war - military analyst

A hypothetical war between Russia and Ukraine would end very quickly following the August war scenario in South Ossetia.

However, holding territory and resisting guerrilla action will be a big problem.

This is what military analyst, reserve captain 1st rank Sergei Ishchenko said.

The expert noted that this problem emerged after the Great Patriotic War in Western Ukraine, when the army spent years running around the mountains and forests in search of Banderovites, and it was only in the fifties that this all ended.

“I think this would happen now in a larger area and with more fierceness”, – Ishchenko stressed.
