"Equality and mutual respect": Zakharova explained what the relationship between Britain and Russia should be based on

As Narodnye Novosti writes, Maria Zakharova once again noted that Russia constantly demonstrates a desire to build a pragmatic and respectful dialogue with Western countries and, in particular, with Great Britain, but at the same time regularly runs into London’s unwillingness to speak with Moscow without threats and hysterics.

“The bases for this are obvious: mutual respect, mutual benefit, legal basis. Equality and mutual respect is an excellent basis for the development of our bilateral relations, ties and interaction”, Zakharova clarified.

As previously reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, which took place at the initiative of the British side. During the talks, the leaders of the two countries discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
