Some of the Afghans are planning to be placed with American families who are involved in charity programs. The refugees will also be provided with a lump-sum grant of $2275. They will be helped by the authorities to find jobs and place their children in local schools.

President Joe Biden’s administration is also planning to rebuild migrant centres closed under Donald Trump, according to CNN.

A total of $1 billion will be allocated from the federal budget for these purposes.
