“Yes, they are completed, the documents have been submitted, and they are now being considered,” said the head of the Center named after Gamalei.

The Russian Sputnik V vaccine was registered in the Russian Federation even before the end of the research – on August 11, 2020. The Ministry of Health issued a permit for post-registration tests, which ended last fall. More than 30 thousand volunteers took part in them.

According to Gunzburg, if the regulator declares the need to change the Sputnik V vaccine, then there will be no problems with this, since at the Center. Gamaleas have preparations based on new strains of coronavirus infection for adapting the drug to virus mutations.

At the moment “Sputnik V” is approved in 70 countries with a total population of about four billion people, which is over 50% of the world’s population. The vaccine is based on an adenoviral platform that provides high efficacy and safety.
