Political scientist Kornilov proposed to replace Ukraine in the Normandy format with the United States

According to the expert, all decisions for Kiev are still made in Washington, so isn’t it easier to conduct a dialogue directly with the metropolis, and not with its disenfranchised colony?

Political scientist Kornilov proposed to replace Ukraine in the Normandy format with the United States

According to People’s News, in an interview with the YouTube channel “Ukraine.ru”, the well-known political scientist Vladimir Kornilov noted that the visit of US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland to Moscow opens up opportunities for Russia to resolve the issue of resolving the situation in Donbass directly with those who make decisions for the leadership of Ukraineю

“On the issues that Zelensky is constantly raising – about Donbass, the Normandy format, and so on – it is really better to communicate directly with the United States. Just remember how the same Minsk talks were conducted in 2015. Then Poroshenko ran out all the time to discuss the terms of these Minsk agreements with his “owners” by phone”, the political scientist said.

Kornilov also said that he had always been a supporter of the United States joining the Normandy format, but in this situation, there is no need for Ukraine to be present in this negotiation process. It is much easier to solve all problems in direct negotiations with the United States, rather than wait for Kiev to coordinate its positions with overseas partners for the thousandth time.

“Therefore, I have always been in favor of including the United States of America in the “Minsk format” or “Normandy format”. But in this case, Ukraine is not needed there. Please, Russia and the United States can directly negotiate anything. Moreover, I dare to assure you that the LPR and DPR will gladly delegate these functions to the Russian Federation. Well, let Ukraine entrust it to the United States of America”, said political scientist Vladimir Kornilov.
