Greenpeace activists have blocked Downing Street with an oil-covered statue of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to protest oil development, Greenpeace said in a statement.
The organization notes that dependence on fossil fuels is causing deadly floods and abnormal heat, rising gas prices and queues at gas stations, and calls for a shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.
Nuland named the main topic of negotiations in Moscow
“Johnson said he supports 16 new oil and gas projects in the North Sea, including Kambo. They can be approved at any time. It’s time to end our overdependence on fossil fuels,” Greenpeace said.
“Greenpeace activists have blocked Downing Street with an oil-covered statue of Prime Minister Boris Johnson. This will be the legacy of the Prime Minister if he does not stop Kambo and support the transition (to green energy – ed.),” the message says.
