“The geopolitical gods are bringing manna from heaven to Putin”, –  he said, adding that in the short term this energy crisis can only be averted by increasing Russian gas exports.

European politicians are well aware that the situation on the gas market is likely to worsen in the near future. And Europeans can only hope for a mild winter.

“This puts Putin on a par with Mother Nature”, –  the journalist says ironically. At the same time, in his opinion, the Russian leader cannot be called the original culprit of the crisis.

The author urges to consider the current aggravation not as a single event, but as a “window to the future”, where the situation with energy supplies will be unpredictable.
