Maria Zakharova suggested that the President of Ukraine worry not about Saakashvili’s detained in Georgia and the statements about his fate made in Tbilisi, but about the citizens detained in Ukraine and the nature of the statements made by the law enforcement agencies of his country.
Earlier on Friday, the press secretary of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov said that Zelensky was concerned about the news of the detention of Saakashvili and “the tone of statements in Georgia about the possible development of the situation.”
Lawyer commented on likelihood of Saakashvili’s extradition to Ukraine
“It is strange that Zelensky is not concerned about the fate of, for example, [the politician Viktor] Medvedchuk or [blogger Anatoly] Shariy, in the tone, in particular, of the SBU, as well as other law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, about the development of the situation over the years. Apparently, the sense of smell does not disturb their exploits”, Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel on Friday.
