US State Department condemns Taliban intentions to resume executions

“We condemn in the strongest terms the resumption of amputations and executions reported in the media. Such actions would constitute a clear and gross violation of human rights”, –  said the State Department spokesperson.

News Front has previously reported that the Taliban have announced plans to resume executions and beheadings “to ensure security”. The Associated Press (AP) recalled that when the Taliban came to power in 1996, a harsh regime based on the implementation of Islamic law was established. Violations were punished by amputations, stoning and public executions.
