Annelena Berbock, candidate for German chancellor from the Greens, will hinder gas supplies via Nord Stream 2 if she joins the new German government.
She stated this in an interview with the Pioneer portal Piget RIA Novosti.
The “greens” take a tough stance towards Russia, and Berbock herself has repeatedly tried to carry out a project in the Bundestag to stop the construction of the highway. Elections in Germany will be held on September 26.
“I would not give them out,” said Berbock, referring to the permits for the operation of the pipeline.
Gas supplies via Nord Stream 2 will be “fatal,” and Moscow’s words about maintaining transit through Ukraine “cannot be trusted,” says Berbock, quoted by the Tagesspiegel newspaper.Kremlin says possible new US sanctions will be the worst-case scenario for relations
