The attacks on the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline from Ukraine will continue, said Sergei Lavrov, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to the politician, criticism of the “Nord Stream-2” mainly comes from the United States. The American side believes that the gas pipeline will allegedly have a negative impact on the energy security of European countries, Lavrov said.

“Our Ukrainian friends are constantly trying to bring this topic to the level of hysteria. It is their habit to beg for something from the West, ”the Russian Foreign Minister said.

The Kiev authorities are asking the West to stop Nord Stream-2, to let Ukraine join NATO and the EU, they are demanding financial assistance, Lavrov said. The diplomat stressed that the Ukrainian people deserve to be not a supplicant, but a creator.
