Senator Alexei Pushkov has predicted a new economic crisis for the US, similar to the events of 2008-2009

Pushkov says US faces economic catastrophe

“In fact, the US itself today is a huge financial bubble. And bubbles inevitably burst”, –  the parliamentarian wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the recovery of the United States economy after the pandemic is being driven by the sale of securities and the build-up of debt, which is leading to financial overheating. He added that Russia has prudently withdrawn from US government bonds over the past few years.

“The decline in Afghanistan itself will not be limited to the decline of the US as a hegemon. Nor will it be limited to the sphere of geopolitics”, – Pushkov stressed.

Back in the spring of 2018, Russia began to sharply reduce its investments in US government debt. Thus, in April, their level dropped from $96 billion to $48.7 billion, and in May to $14.9 billion. For March 2020, Russia more than tripled its volume compared to February – from $12.58 billion to $3.85 billion.
