NATO said that the conflict in Donbass will not interfere with Ukraine's membership in the alliance

According to TASS, on Tuesday, in an interview with the European Pravda newspaper, the head of the NATO office in Kiev, Alexander Vinnikov, said that what is happening in the Donbass is not an obstacle to Ukraine’s entry into NATO.

“There is no such norm in the NATO Washington Treaty. In the end, however, the allies must be convinced that the new member’s entry will enhance the security of the alliance. That is why this decision is made collectively”, he said.

Vinnikov also touched on the topic of how NATO can help Ukraine restore territorial integrity and control over territorial waters. He mentioned the increase in the presence of the alliance forces in the Black Sea and the scale of the joint Sea Breeze exercises with the participation of 30 countries.
