Expert assumes how Zelensky’s visit to Biden will end

Ukraine will find a way to present President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the US as extremely successful, but in reality Kiev will not get anything out of it
Expert assumes how Zelensky's visit to Biden will end

This was said by the director of the Kiev Center for Political Studies and Conflict Research, Mykhailo Pogrebinsky, in an interview with Ukraina.ru

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukrainian and US presidents Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden will discuss three blocks of issues during a meeting in Washington in late August: political, economic and security issues.

“I think that our delegation, the foreign minister and representatives of the administration, they will then find some words to explain: this is a successful visit, they promised us something, condemned Russia’s aggression, and so on. But in reality they will not give us anything at all. No serious compensation for the loss of gas transit – none of this will be real. I think there will be a lot of criticism even from the anti-Russian camp after this visit”, –  Pogrebinsky believes.

The parties are unlikely to achieve any decisive breakthrough, as is evident from the comments made by the national security adviser, Pogrebinsky clarified.

As for the possible establishment of relations with Russia, Zelensky has burned all the bridges with his statements about Donbas, the weekly’s interlocutor concluded.
