Kiev again ignored calls for an armistice in Donbass, LPR said

Kiev again ignored calls for an armistice in Donbass, LPR said

Earlier, the LPR said that the Ukrainian security forces opened fire on the territory of the republic three times on Saturday.

“The facts of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine were promptly communicated to the representatives of the Ukrainian side in the JCCC in order to take measures and exclude the accusation of the people’s republic of provocations,” a spokesman for the republic’s defense department told reporters.

He clarified that the attempt of the LPR representation in the JCCC to use the coordination mechanism for the prompt return of the silence regime “was once again ignored by the Ukrainian side.”

In July last year, additional measures to ensure a ceasefire entered into force in the Donbass. These measures imply a complete ban on firing, placing weapons in and near settlements, offensive and reconnaissance and sabotage actions. In addition, they provide for disciplinary liability for violations of the ceasefire. Ceasefire orders containing measures to maintain it must be in effect until the conflict is fully resolved.
