According to TASS, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Belarusian authorities did not appeal to the Russian leadership about the possibility of deploying the Russian armed forces in the republic.

“There have been no appeals on this score from Belarus. You know that this is possible after the official appeal of the leadership of one country to the leadership of another country. In this regard, there are procedures defined by law and powers defined by law. There were no any appeals from Belarus in this regard”, – said the Kremlin spokesman.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the Russian armed forces could be deployed in the republic in the event of a threat to the security of the Union State, but so far there is no such need.
