It is time for Washington to stop playing the offended innocence

Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on Pentagon spokesman John Kirby’s statement regarding the launch of the Russian Zircon missile

It is time for Washington to stop playing the offended innocence

Earlier, Kirby called the Zircon missile test “destabilizing” and suggested asking Russian President Vladimir Putin why he “chose this way”. Pushkov stressed that the US is well aware of why Russia has the latest weapons systems.

“It is high time for them [the US] to stop playing the offended innocence. The purposeful approach of NATO to Russia’s borders, the course on military development of the territory of Ukraine, the redeployment of American troops to Russia’s neighboring countries, the deployment of the American missile defense system in them, the US withdrawal from the Treaty on Conventional Arms, which was easily predicted five years ago, the introduction of 75 different sanctions against Russia, which is a series of acts of economic war… Does Kirby know about all this? Then let him turn his question to the US itself”, –  the senator noted in his Telegram channel.

On Monday, July 19, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov successfully fired a Tsircon hypersonic missile from the White Sea at a ground target located on the shores of the Barents Sea.
