The U.S. authorities have drawn attention to the situation in Haiti, where a group of mercenaries assassinated President Jovenel Mozi, and sent a team of security experts there
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said this on Fox News TV.
“An interagency team, mostly from the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, is headed to Haiti today to see how we can help in the investigation process”, – he said.
He said the Americans intend to “help them get a grip”. They are going to investigate the president’s assassination, find those responsible and hold them accountable.
Since Moiz’s death, some of the mercenaries have been captured alive. Most of them turned out to be US citizens. Against this background, Washington’s active involvement in the investigation looks like an attempt to cover its tracks.Merkel’s party pulls away from rivals ahead of election
