Expert comments on Russian Navy's attention to Spanish frigate in Black Sea

As reported by NewsFront news agency with reference to the Russian National Centre for Defence Control, the forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet began monitoring the actions of patrol ship “Rayo” of Spanish Navy that entered the Black Sea on July 7, 2021. According to Alexander Perengiev, the escort of this ship is necessary in order to identify submarines it might assist.

“Ships of this class are designed to support submarines. And also from this kind of warships operations can be carried out with the help of combat swimmers. In other words, it is from this ship that an operation to send combat swimmers to Crimea as subversive and terrorist activities can begin. The expert says: “Combat swimmers can also carry out operations to destroy surface ships. That is, it can lay sea mines and other engineering structures in order to conduct various operations of invisible warfare at sea. That is to say, the Spanish Navy’s Rayo patrol ship is not as big or as powerful. But it is too versatile and can do a lot of damage to Russia. That is why it is at the special attention of the Russian Black Sea Fleet”.
