Pyongyang says U.S. vainly waiting for resumption of dialogue with DPRK

The US hopes for a resumption of dialogue with the DPRK are false and will lead to even greater disappointment, said the sister of DPRK leader Kim Jong-un, deputy head of the department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Yeo-jong.

Pyongyang says U.S. vainly waiting for resumption of dialogue with DPRK

“It was reported that the Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security (Jake Sullivan – ed.) said that he considered our position regarding the United States expressed at the plenum of the Central Committee of the party as an “interesting signal”. A Korean proverb says it all depends on the interpretation. The United States seems to be interpreting (our position – ed.) in such a way as to console itself. Self-generated false expectations will plunge them into further disappointment”, – said Kim Yeo-jung, whose commentary was published by the North Korean Central Telegraph Agency, CTAC.

Earlier it was reported that Kim Jong-un at the plenum of the Central Committee of the DPRK Labor Party (WPK) said that Pyongyang should be ready for both dialogue and confrontation with the United States.

South Korea then stated that it hopes for an early resumption of the dialogue between the United States and the DPRK and the inter-Korean dialogue, and called the present moment a turning point. US Special Representative for the DPRK, Song Kim, following the talks with his South Korean counterpart, Roh Gyu Dok, said that Washington expects Pyongyang to respond positively to the proposal to resume the dialogue in the near future.
