According to Russian Federation Senator Alexei Pushkov, one of the main goals of the West is to approve sanctions mechanisms as a “new norm”
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said that the sanctions regime “will always remain, as they are embodied in many legislative regulations of American and other states, and it will be impossible to unscrew back.”
Suspension of Baltic Pipe has weakened Poland’s position in pressuring Russia
“The goal of the West is to approve sanctions mechanisms as the ‘new norm’. Russia cannot and should not recognise this, just as the US did not recognise the accession of the Baltic republics to the USSR. “As soon as we recognize the irreversibility of sanctions, they will turn into a ‘new norm’ in our relations with the US and the EU”, – Pushkov said in his Telegram channel.
