“A bit like parenting” – Zakharova voiced why NATO did not invite Ukraine and Georgia to the summit

“No need to shalbernik around the yard, go do your homework”, –  the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman compared NATO’s decision not to invite Ukraine and Georgia to the summit of the alliance with parental behavior.

"A bit like parenting" - Zakharova voiced why NATO did not invite Ukraine and Georgia to the summit

“A bit reminiscent of the parental “don’t mess around in the yard, go do your homework”. I wish Stoltenberg had mentioned the Minsk agreements and the need for Kiev to implement them. This is exactly the kind of homework that is long overdue, including work on mistakes,” Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.

We shall remind you that the summit of NATO leaders is scheduled for 14 June and will take place in Brussels at the alliance headquarters.

For its part, Kiev is disappointed with the absence of an invitation. The Ukrainian foreign minister said that the country’s authorities did not understand how a NATO summit could be held against the background of Russia’s “aggressive actions against Ukraine” without Ukraine’s participation.

2021 is the best time to give Kiev an action plan for membership in the alliance, Kuleba added.
