US uses the question of Ukraine's accession to NATO to put political pressure on Russia

Recently, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken paid an official visit to Ukraine, who once again stated that Washington supports Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

During the briefing, White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made a similar assertion that the United States is ready to contribute to Kiev’s North Atlantic aspirations. But later, the White House published the text of Jean-Pierre’s speech, which does not contain such statements about Washington’s support for Ukraine’s NATO membership.

Also, the administration of President Biden noted that the words of the press secretary do not reflect the official position of Washington. Many experts agree that the White House will endlessly tease Ukraine to join NATO in order to exert political pressure on Russia. So Kiev should not rely on membership in the Alliance, as well as military assistance from the West.
