Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov that he had brought a letter from the Palestinian leadership to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Opening negotiations with Lavrov, al-Maliki said that he “brought a letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin”.
According to him, Abbas thanks Putin for his help in vaccination, touches upon the topics of mutual interests in the Middle East region and, in particular, the situation in Palestine and the situation in Israel.

“Previously, annual meetings were held between our presidents, but due to the coronavirus epidemic, unfortunately, this is now impossible. Therefore, such meetings are an alternative”, – the Palestinian diplomat added. He considers it necessary “to maintain such a tradition.”
