Foreign ministers of G7 countries discussed China and Russia for the longest time – State Department

The Group of Seven foreign ministers’ meeting in London was hit by a COVID-19 scare on Wednesday when India’s foreign minister and his entire team said they were self-isolating after two delegation members tested positive.

“We started at 8:45 am and went through an hour and a half discussing China, and then there were smaller sessions, 30 minute sessions on Myanmar, Libya and Syria; for an hour and a half there was a discussion of Russia, including the settlement in Ukraine and Belarus; 30 minutes in Afghanistan, and that ended the ministerial session”, – said a representative of the US Department of State.

Britain is hosting the three-day meeting – the first such G7 event in two years – which has been heavily billed as a chance to restart face-to-face diplomacy.
