Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes that everything related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program will be restored within the previous framework.
The President said that at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Friday he intends to discuss the situation in the Caspian region. He noted that Iran is one of Russia’s neighbors within the Caspian Five.
“Today we will discuss a very important topic, namely, the situation in the Caspian region. It seems to me, there is no need to talk again about how important this is for Russia. This also applies to issues of economic activity, and interaction with our closest partners and allies. And of course, this concerns security issues, Russia’s interests in the Caspian region as a whole”, – Putin said at the beginning of the meeting.
“Now a lot of issues are being resolved on the Iranian nuclear program. I hope that everything related to the JCPOA will be restored within the previous framework, and we will be able, including in the Caspian region, to build full-fledged relations with all members of this Caspian club, to implement in full all the plans that we have in mind for ourselves”, – he said.
