Russia closes three areas of the Black Sea for six months

As reported by the Department of Navigation and Oceanography of the Russian Defense Ministry, Russia is imposing restrictions on the right of peaceful passage through the Black Sea “for foreign warships and other government vessels” from April 24 to October 31 at 9 p.m. Exercises will be held in Russian waters during this period.

A section of the waters along the Crimean coastline between Sevastopol and Gurzuf, a section near the coast of the Kerch Peninsula near Cape Opuk, and a section near the western edge of the peninsula will be closed for this period.
